During those last days of my pregnancy I not only prepared those basics for baby but for myself as well. If I would ever find time to look up from our baby (which really did not happen a lot) I could enjoy some easy knitting as well as reading.
So I lay aside some beautiful Isager Wool (Spinni Tweed) and decided I could make a pair of tiny legwarmers.
The best thing about those: They keep the baby legs warm but at the same time you can adore those sweet toesies.
Here is how I made them:
Material: Pure Merino Wool or Baby Yarn if you like it cosier (I used TWO STRANDS of this yarn.)
Yardage: 300m/100g
Needles: Set of DPN No. 2,5 mm (US 1 1/2)
Cast on 48 stitches. Divide onto 4 needles. Join the round.
*Knit 3 Purl 3* until end of round.
That way knit a 15 to 20 cm long tube (80 rounds for me).
Cast off.
Weave in ends.
Adore.
As for reading, I am reaching for anything within the radius of my hands; magazines or books that sit on the nearest shelf, that I had started or read before, like A short history of Tractors in Ukrainian by Marina Lewycka or Too much Happiness by Alice Munro.
Maschen abketten.
Enden vernähen.
Bewundern.
