Does „reading maps“ count as reading? It is, however, necessary to get me prepared for the new mountaineering season and I am in fact enjoying it as much as reading a book. Making plans for a handful of excursions this spring and summer. And there are a few books involved too.
What’s also supposed to be (finally) finished before the snow has melted from the mountain tops is this outdoor sweater.
As you can tell from the condition of the written pattern as well as from the date it states, I have been working on it for quite a while. Or rather it’s been waiting in the basket for some time now.
Back then I wanted to make something real simple after my own pattern, maybe all stockinette stitch, but later decided to knit the upper part in moss stitch. I do like it so far, back and front finished, and am getting ready to add the arms now. Hoping it’s not gonna take another year.

Wie man am Datum auf meiner Anleitung sieht, und an deren Zustand, ist das „Luis Trenker“-Projekt schon ein bisschen länger am Laufen. Aber jetzt hab ich mir vorgenommen, es zu beenden, bevor der letzte Schnee von den Gipfeln schmilzt. Ich bin immerhin schon bei den Ärmeln des Sweaters.
Wenn aber auch immer so viel Aktuelles dazwischen kommt. Zum Beispiel die Planung für die neue Bergsaison. Das Träumen, Planen und Lesen von Karten ist für mich mindestens so spannend wie ein guter Roman. Wobei natürlich auch noch ein paar Berg-Bücher dabei eine Rolle spielen.
Ach, wie ich mich schon wieder auf die Berge im Sommer freue! (Werde dann versuchen, das gleiche Foto mit Pullovermodel statt Ziegenherde zu machen…)
