I knit a sweater from Debbie Bliss for our oldest son, because I wanted to make something special for him. Therefore I decided to handdye the wool as well, following directions from a translation of Natural Dyeing by Jackie Crook. I used green nut shells. A lot of work but it’s worth it. I love the colour, it is so special and warm. Not only do the directions seem to work but it also contains beautiful pictures.
[The pockets are a personal addition to the original DB pattern too. Good for all sorts of treasures.]
Ich wollte etwas ganz Besonderes für unseren Großen machen. Ich entschied mich für einen Zopf-Pullover mit Kapuze aus dem Baby Knits Book von Debbie Bliss.
[Die Tasche vorne hab ich mir ausgedacht, ehrlich gesagt, weil gerade da drunter die Färbung nicht gepasst hat. Gar nicht so verkehrt; hier passen allerlei tolle Schätze rein…]
Weil das noch nicht besonders genug war, habe ich die Wolle mit grünen Walnuss-Schalen gefärbt. Die Anleitung kam aus dem Buch Natürlich Färben von Jackie Crook. Das Buch ist nicht nur brauchbar, sondern auch richtig schön.
Von dem Pullover habe ich noch kein gscheites Stillleben zusammengebracht. Aber er ist schließlich auch in Action am Schönsten.
